The time had finally come! A friend from church really wanted me to rebind her Bible she had since she was a teenager. I was a little hesitant because I just wasn't sure if I was quite ready to have my work "out there" yet, but she insisted I go for it because she could no longer use it and really wanted to...and who could blame her? It was full of notes and highlights from years of being in the Word. She had tried using other Bibles but she wanted this one because she was so familiar with it.
I don't know what the original cover looked like because it was already missing when she gave it to me, but I do know it was green, so I knew just the leather I wanted to use. One of the first leather hides I bought about two years before this was a green Sokoto Morocco goatskin and I just hadn't found a Bible I wanted to use on it yet but this was it. She loved the leather combinations I showed and so I went for it. I was really pleased with the way it turned out and so was my friend. She still uses it to this day and I see her with it every Sunday morning. This is why I do what I do!
