Blue leather hymnal

#04

Bibles are not the only thing you can rebind. For this project, I had a friend donate a hymnal she had and she told me how she has fond memories of her grandmother, her favorite hymns, and how they meant so much to her. Stories like this bless me when I hear them and is part of the reason I want to perfect my craft as much as possible.

During the process of this rebind, the textblock did not behave as a Bible textblock does, so that was an interesting challenge. This is also the last Bible (for now) I do the perimeter stitching on. I guess with the leather being soft and flexible, I'm just too rough on it when I'm stitching because my line is real wavy. I hope to get back to to doing that soon, but as you'll see in upcoming rebinds, I lay it aside for now.
